Dictar is built around a simple privacy principle: your data stays on your device. The Software processes all audio, transcriptions, text, and AI commands locally using open-source models. No audio recordings, transcribed text, voice commands, or processed outputs are ever transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers as part of the Software's core functionality. This Privacy Policy describes what limited information we do collect (such as through payment processing and website visits), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

As a matter of core design, Dictar does not collect: • Your audio recordings or voice data • Your transcribed text or dictation history • Text processed by AI voice commands • Snippet content or custom vocabulary entries • Files or documents you interact with via the Software • Your keystrokes or clipboard contents None of this data ever leaves your device. It is processed exclusively by AI models running on your local hardware.

3a. Purchase Information When you purchase a Dictar license, your payment is processed by Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), a third-party payment processor. We receive only the information necessary to fulfill your order, including your email address (for license delivery) and a transaction reference. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. 3b. Support Communications If you contact us at appformats@gmail.com, we retain the contents of that communication to respond to you and to improve the Software. We do not share this information with third parties. 3c. Website Analytics Our website (dictar.app) may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand general visitor traffic (e.g. page visits, referral sources). We do not use tracking cookies, fingerprinting, or personally identifiable analytics. No individual user profiles are built from website visits.

We use the limited information we collect solely to: • Deliver your license key after purchase • Respond to your support requests • Understand aggregate usage of our website to improve it • Comply with legal obligations We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Dodo Payments — We use Dodo Payments to process license purchases. Your payment information is governed by Dodo Payments' privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review their policies at dodopayments.com. Google Fonts — Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts. This results in a network request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address. See Google's privacy policy for details. We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics on our website.

Dictar uses open-source AI models (Whisper, Parakeet, Qwen3, Kokoro) that run entirely on your device. These models are downloaded from their respective open-source repositories during initial setup and stored locally. Once downloaded, the Software operates fully offline without any model-related network requests. We do not receive any telemetry, usage statistics, or outputs from these on-device models.

We retain your email address and transaction reference for as long as necessary to support your license. If you request deletion of your personal data, we will remove it from our records within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention records). We take reasonable measures to protect the limited personal information we hold. Your email and transaction records are stored securely. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because the Software processes all sensitive data locally on your device, the most meaningful security is provided by your own device's operating system and hardware security features.

Dictar is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at appformats@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: • Access the personal information we hold about you • Correct inaccurate personal information • Request deletion of your personal information • Object to or restrict certain processing of your personal information • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent To exercise any of these rights, contact us at appformats@gmail.com. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Software or website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
